‘Microsoft’ scammers targeting householders across Donegal today

A team of ‘Microsoft’ scammers are targeting Donegal consumers.

Hundreds of people across the county have been telephoned to their landlines today by the conmen and women.

The con artists are pretending that people’s computers are broken and that they need to be updated.

They then ask for a fee or for bank account details.

One man from Letterkenny told Donegal Daily that he was telephoned twice by the same gang this morning.

“I let thrm ramble on until they asked for money and then I realised it was a scam.

“They called my landline so it would appear that they are targeting people in the Donegal area.

“I just want to let people know that this is a scam and that they should not give out any details,” he said.
