Hundreds of homes in the Bonemaine area of Bridgend have been left without water after yet another major pipe burst.
The water went off at around 7am this morning and is not expected to return until 3pm.
The water supply feeds into at least six housing estates in the area as well as numerous other homes.
Local county councillor Jack Murray said this is a regular occurrence and something drastic needs to be done to stop it happening.
“I know that when my phone begins to get texts early in the morning it is a water issue or another burst pipe.
“This is happening almost on a monthly basis and it’s simply not on.
“This entire mains needs to be replaced, it’s as simple as that.
“I cannot fault the council engineer in the ground and he is aware of the problem but there is nothing he can do.
“This is an Irish Water problem and they need to address it. They go on and on when they have an upgrade in certain areas but nothing it being done about this area.
“I would confidently say it is the worst affected area in the county if not the country,” he slammed.
