A Donegal mum has issued a warning to other parents after her son was approached by a stranger after getting off a school bus.
Amanda Dullaghan’s son Adam was approached by the man as he got off the bus in the Gortlee area of Letterkenny earlier today (Mon).
The man, who was in his 20s with dirty blonde hair, approached Adam and asked if he could speak with him.
Adam refused to engage with the man and ran away but the man began to shout abuse at the teenager.
Thankfully the school pupil was not hurt and informed his mum immediately about what had happened.
Gardai have been made aware of the incident and are investigating the matter.
Adam’s worried mum too to social media to tell of her son’s frightening experience to let other parents know.
Amanda wrote “Just to be aware my son Adam was approached today by a man after getting off his school bus in the Gortlee area in Letterkenny.
“The man is described to be around 6ft dirty blonde hair clean shaving around mid to late 20s he had a shiny black hoodie with the hood up and black jeans and was carrying a bag if anyone may have noticed him in the area.
“Adam said he was aware of his presence as he was walking towards him he said he felt something wasn’t right. The man then asked if he could speak to him and Adam said no and as he began to run away the man started shouting abuse at him.
“It’s a scary world we seem to be living in and lucky Adam is in secondary school and is man big but that doesn’t seem to make any difference these days.”
