Kilmacrennan Celtic’s battle to avoid the relegation play-off spot received a boost with this victory at The Moss. Goals at the start of each half and another late in the first had them 3-0 ahead and looking comfortable but Drumoghill Celtic who will play Division One Football next season kept trying and were rewarded for their efforts with two late goals of their own. Kilmacrennan Celtic got off to the best possible start when Timmy Burke put Gary Gorman through and he slotted the ball past stand-in keeper Liam O Donnell in the opening minute. Ryan Shields nearly made it 2-0 a minute later but O Donnell denied him with a good save. Drumoghill had a chance to equalise in the 9th minute when the impressive Dylan Mc Elhinney’s cross found Ethan Mc Cready but he headed wide, In the 25th minute Mc Elhinney’s free-kick from 30yds force an excellent save from keeper Jason Hegarty. Kilmacrennan were on top and Paddy Sheirdan and Gary Gorman both went close while at the other end another Mc Elhinney cross found the head of Sean Cleary and forced another good save from Hegarty. Drumoghill had been playing a risky high line in defence and it backfired in the 39th minute when Ryan Shields timed his run and Gerard ‘Zola ‘ McGranaghan inch perfect pass sent him clear , and he took the time afforded to him to make it 2-0. It was 3-0 in the 47th minute, John ‘Rab ‘ Sandilands sent over a dangerous cross, Gary Gorman contested in the air and when the ball dropped in front of him Timmy Burke drilled it past David Crawford who had replaced the injured Liam O Donnell at half-time.
