Shane Byrne won the 15th trophy of his Glengad United tenure this evening – but hopes for more to follow in the coming weeks.
It was tight until Doherty broke the deadlock on 45 minutes and he added a killer second just after the interval.
“I thought we played very well,” Glengad boss Byrne said.
“We had a lot of possession, we kept the ball well and our passing was very good.
“We knew at half-time that if we got the second goal that it was a big ask for any team to score three past us. The second goal killed the game. I was delighted with the performance.”
