Fears are growing that a vital defibrillator service in Inishowen may be forced to finish because of a lack of volunteers.
The Malin Head Red Cross was formed 11 years ago to provide Defibrillator assistance to locals who needed emergency help because of the waiting times for ambulances in the area.
The group recently launched two extra defibrillators in the area bring the total to four in the area. The new defibs are located at Farrens Bar, Slievebawn, and the Presbyterian Church, Lagg.
However running four defibrillators has its problems and the lack of trained mature, responsible people to man the units and be available in emergency times.
Malin Head has 10 trained members and are urgently require more people to step forward and train to be able to use these lifesaving devices.
The group says four units in a small rural area are the envy of many larger towns but the group need help in order to maintain these life saving devices.
Those who may be interested in getting defib training ad to help save this vital service are asked to contact Teresa O Hagan 0868476845.
