A situation between management and some staff at St Joseph’s Hospital in Stranorlar has been resolved.
THree members of staff at the hospital had been sent home after refusing to take part in the intimate care of some elderly female patients.
Several multi-task attendants said they were refusing to undertake the duty on moral grounds.
Now the HSE has today issued a statement saying the issue has been resolved.
The statement said “The HSE is pleased to report that HSE Management, Staff and Representatives from SIPTU Union have worked together to agree a successful resolution with regards to the issue of certain duties undertaken by a small number of male staff employed as multi-task attendants at St Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar.
“This resolution has been accepted by all parties thereby concluding the matter.”
