A very lucky cat from Annagry survived a lengthy 50 km journey to Letterkenny under her owner’s car bonnet!
When her owner, Majella McBride, left her car into a Letterkenny garage; the mechanic was shocked to see two big green eyes staring back at him when he opened the bonnet!
Thankfully the cat, Nova, was unharmed and is happy to be back at home.
Speaking to BBC NI, Majella says: “One of the nine lives is definitely gone.
“I had driven all the way from Annagry, over bumpy country roads, and I even stopped for an hour or so to do some shopping.”
When the call came from the garage to ask if she’s missing a black cat called Nova, she couldn’t believe it!
“I thought they were winding me up. When they had lifted the bonnet, there she was.”
ISPCA Public Relations Manager Carmel Murray says: “Cats are great at finding warm spots to sleep, but sometimes these can be dangerous, like under the hood of a car so make sure to check your car for sleeping kitties before you drive.”
