Donegal County Council has announced it will grit all major routes across the county tonight.
It follows a warning that temperatures are set to plunge overnight.
Motorists have been asked to exercise caution when driving.
A new yellow weather alert warning for ice and snow has been issued by Met Eireann for tonight.
However, Donegal is not one of the counties included in the alert.
