Áislann Chill Chartha has secured a grant totaling €97,151 to fund an extension.
Announcing this grant, Joe McHugh TD, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, said he was delighted to grant the funding: “I have visited the Áislann on various occasions in recent years, and I have always been impressed with the facilities and programmes being carried out here.
“There is no doubt but that The Resource Center is providing a high standard of education, training, recreation and sports facilities for the community of Cill Chartha and the surrounding area.”
“I wish to commend the hard-working committee on their efforts with regards this project, and I wish them every success going forward.”
The grant is being approved under the range of activities An Ghaeltacht of the 20 Year Strategy for Irish Language 2010-2030.

Ag fógairt an deontais seo, dúirt an tAire Stáit go raibh an-áthas air an maoiniú a chur ar fáil. “Níl aon amhras ach go bhfuil ardchaighdeán áiseanna oideachais, oiliúna, áineasa agus spóirt á gcur ar fáil ag an Áislann do phobal Chill Charthaigh agus an cheantair mhórthimpeall.”
