Ahead of its re-opening this Easter, Donegal’s Oakfield Park is recruiting for a number of positions. Since opening its doors in 2006, the park has become a key attraction for locals and visitors to Donegal and plans are now in place to grow the team to further enhance the visitor experience to the park. The following positions are available:
Cook / Pastry Chef:
- Provide hot food, sandwiches, scones, cakes, bakes etc. in Oakfield Park’s garden tea rooms, ‘Buffers’
- Full-time, primarily daytime work during sociable hours when gardens are open.
- Immediate start.
- 2 years relevant experience essential.
- Wage negotiable.
Administrative / Office Work
- 3-5 days per week.
- Flexible hours.
- Wage negotiable.
Garden Maintenance Staff
- 5 days per week.
- Wage negotiable.
- Experience and ability to drive machinery essential.

Reopening on Thursday 29th March, Oakfield Park will host its first family event of the year with an Easter Egg Hunt for all the family. Experience some Easter Magic at Oakfield Park on Saturday, 31st March, Sunday, 1st and Monday, 2nd April from 12pm – 6pm daily.
Families can expect lots of Easter fun, with chocolate treats, face painting and the chance to meet the Oakfield Park Easter bunny. Children can also enjoy exploring the beautiful grounds of Oakfield Park on an Easter Egg Hunt, while the Oakfield Park trains will also be in full steam all weekend.
Meanwhile, Oakfield Park has also launched its Annual Passes for 2018. Pass holders can experience the wonders of Oakfield Park as many times as they like throughout the year. For 2018, the park has also introduced the Oakfield Park Gold Pass which offers excellent value, giving holders VIP access to the gardens, unlimited train rides, special deals and early booking for events. Gold Pass holders will also be among the first to visit the park’s new hedge maze when it opens. They will also receive personalised gifts throughout the year.
Entry to the Easter Event at Oakfield Park is €8 for adults, €5 for children and under 3’s go free. Aside from the Easter family fun event, other special family days to look out for during the summer season include the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Steam Sundays, and Garden Tours.
