Darren Doran had been out of the game when Kildrum Tigers manager Shane Brown came calling in January.
The Newtown man returned to Station Road, where he’d previously played in the Ulster Senior League.
Doran had been courted by several sides last summer, but took some time out before getting withdrawal symptoms at the mid-season break.
“I feel like I can add to the team. I’ll give what I can to the team. We played some good football. We got back into it and we needed goals to get us going.”
Nick Nelis’ goal had Drumoghill in front, but goals by Kevin McHugh and Gareth Colhoun swung the pendulum before Doran’s deadly treble.
He said: “I knew I could do a job. I felt good and felt as if I could score. I knew I could make the runs in behind, bury them and take my chances.
“I was buzzing to get the hat-trick.”
