St Columba’s College, Stranorlar struck a superb second-half scoring burst, including three goals, to book a place in the Danske Bank Markey Cup final yesterday.

St Columba’s College, Stranorlar 3-16 St Patrick’s, Keady 2-10

St Columba’s trailed 1-7 to 0-7 at half-time, as Pearse Hughes hit the net for Keady in the 22nd minute.

Oisin Gallen’s five points helped to keep St Columba’s College in touch. St Columba’s were a new side after the interval and soon signalled their intent.

Gallen and Corrie-Lee Bogan hit points before St Columba’s broke for their opening goal. Bogan took a pass from Darragh McMenamin and he made no mistake.

Gallen was soon drilling in a second St Columba’s goal for a 2-10 to 1-7 lead.

Keady hit back again, but Gallen and Joe McGill slotted over a brace each.

Reece Butter’s goal from a penalty had Keady within six, but Paddy Dolan added a late goal and St Columba’s were on their way to a final meeting with Carndonagh Community School.

St Columba’s scorers: Oisin Gallen (4f) 1-9, Corrie-Lee Bogan 1-3, Paddy Dolan 1-0, Joe McGill 0-3 Jamie Keegan 0-1
