The members of Líonra Leitir Ceanainn recently attended a workshop in Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin with Dónal Ó Baoill from Foras na Gaeilge to explore the principles of developing a language plan for Letterkenny.
A spokesperson for the group says: “Such a plan would aim to support increasing opportunities for people to socialise, conduct business, learn and avail of services through the medium of Irish.
“This is part of a strategy to recognise Letterkenny as a Gaeltacht Services Town.
“It also acknowledges the great number of individuals and families who see the Irish language as a vital and natural part of their everyday lives.”
