RESIDENTS in west Donegal have had their evening lit up – with huge lightning strikes.

Rumbles of thunder have accompanied the lightning over the past couple of hours.

The storm has been most prolific around Dungloe, Gaoth Dobhair, the Rosses and off Magheraroarty.

People 30km inland have been able to see the lightning.
