Letterkenny University Hospital is the third most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today.
Figures released by the INMO this afternoon show that 43 patients are currently awaiting admission at LUH, 30 of whom are on trolleys and 13 of whom are waiting on the wards.
This is a substantial rise from the 34 patients that awaited admission at the hospital yesterday.
The most overcrowded hospital today is Cork University Hospital, where 58 patients are waiting for a bed – followed by University Hospital, Limerick, in which 55 patients are waiting.
Nationally, 544 patients are waiting for a bed – 399 of these patients are waiting on trolleys.
