Tyrone have won the last six Dr McKenna Cup titles – and Mickey Harte has no intention of loosening the Red Hand grip on the silverware.
Tyrone and Donegal clash on Saturday evening in the final, delayed until now after a raft of postponements in the competition last month.
The two meet in a couple of weeks in the League, but Saturday’s game offers both with an early-season chance of silverware.
“It’s good to be playing competitive football,” Harte said.
“We don’t see anything wrong with winning competitions, regardless of how others might view them as not that important.
“Any competition you’re in is important. We have taken it seriously and we want to do our best to hold onto it.”
