Drivers across Donegal are being urged to take care this morning due to icy roads, while one road has been declared impassable.
Gardai in Buncrana are advising road users to avoid Mountain Pass (R244) between Buncrana and Carndonagh as a number of vehicles have gotten stuck in the ice.
Elsewhere, fresh snowfall this morning is creating slippy conditions on many routes. There is likely to be ice on many untreated roads and footpaths. Met Eireann’s status yellow snow-ice warning remains in place until 8am today.
Snow will continue to fall during the day before a wet and windy night this Monday. There is a risk of thundery downpours and additional snow in the Donegal area in particular.
