Mickey McCann says that Sunday’s historic win over Derry will do wonders for the belief of his Donegal hurling squad.
Ronan McDermott, Bernard Lafferty, Declan Coulter and Davin Flynn netted the goals in a 4-17 to 1-10 triumph over the Oak Leaf at O’Donnell Park.
For the first time, Donegal tasted a competitive senior win over Derry and it also marked Donegal’s first ever win in Division 2B.
“It was a great afternoon,” McCann said.
“It was well deserved. We knew we were on top and we knew the chances would keep coming. They got score after score and the way it is in hurling, no score is safe so you have to do that.
“That will put belief into them. They’ll go into the rest of the games with confidence.”
