Majella O’Donnell has revealed she is an advocate of the use of medicinal cannabis, saying she would be ‘all for it’ if it would benefit her health.
The singer and campaigner has shared her belief that Ireland should legalise the use of marijuana for the treatment of various health conditions.
Majella told the Irish Mirror that the use of cannabis for the alleviation of pain and symptoms of the likes of Multiple Sclerosis is a personal choice and one that she would make if necessary.
Majella said: “If it helps why not, absolutely I’m all for it, like in the case of people with MS. If it helps people in that respect.
“This thing with drugs, you’re either the type of person who’s going to do it or you’re not.”
“I wouldn’t have a problem with it for pain. I’d be doing it myself if I thought it was going to help me,” she said.
Majella and husband Daniel have also proudly joined a campaign for better hearing with Hidden Hearing Ireland. This week, Majella has been keen to talk about her own hearing issues and revealed she wears two hearing aids.
Majella had suffered from many ear infections as a child which affected her hearing. She now wears two devices that have changed her life for the better.
Daniel and Majella are fronting the campaign to call on people over 50 to get their ears tested and discover the benefits of hearing devices.
