Met Éireann forecast that there is a risk of hail and thunder for Donegal today.
The regional forecast indicates it will continue to be windy today, with strong to gale force winds expected along with some heavy showers. Highest temperatures will range between 5 to 7 degrees.
Tonight, fresh to strong south-westerly winds will sweep over the county with a risk of further hail showers and isolated thunderstorms. It will be cold tonight, with lowest temperatures between 3 to 5 degrees.
Tomorrow will continue to be cold and breezy with scattered showers. Strong southwesterly winds will veer northwest and become more moderate in the evening with highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
There is also a risk of thunder tomorrow, and showers will become more scattered and less heavy into tomorrow evening.
Donegal County Council says that in light of the hail forecast, motorists should beware of slippy roads.
“Motorists should use extreme caution during these showers,” a spokesperson says.
