The team of Shandon Hotel & Spa, one of Donegal’s newest hotels, are celebrating their success in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2018.
The seaside hotel beside Marble Hill has moved up to 12th place out of the Top 25 Hotels in Ireland.
The TripAdvisor awards are determined by millions of holidaymakers’ reviews from all over the world. Guests who stayed at the Shandon praised stand-out features including the stunning views, the relaxing spa and the delicious locally sourced food.
General Manager Carolynne Harrison said today’s TripAdvisor achievement is a great testament to the hard-working team: “We are ecstatic to have moved up 3 rankings from last year. There are roughly 850 hotels in Ireland, so for us to come in at 12th, puts us roughly in the top 1% of hotels in the country!
“Our hike is testament to the fantastic team here in the Shandon and our ethos of employing people for attitude over experience has certainly been paying us dividends!,” Carolynne said.
Carolynne shared her delight that Donegal is well-represented in this year’s list. Four hotels from across the county placed in the Top 25 list of Ireland’s Best Hotels, while Harvey’s Point placed at number two after being knocked off the number one spot for the first time in 6 years.
