There was great excitement on Saturday at Scoil Cholmcille as the school opened its doors for its first Open Day ahead of becoming a mixed co-educational school.
The day gave families the chance to see all the activities and facilities available for children starting the Letterkenny primary school in September this year.
The school will be welcoming girls into classes this year for the first time since its establishment in 1894. Up to 10 girls have already enrolled for September 1st 2018.
Parents and children enjoyed refreshments as the children sampled some of the many activities available for them to experience in September. A great day was had by all.
