There have been reports of flooding on roads across the county this afternoon as the cold snap begins to lift.
The N13 between Letterkenny and Stranorlar/Ballybofey has flooded patches, with motorists advised to exercise caution if travelling through the area as no signs are currently in place to warn motorists of surface water.
The roadworks along the N13 is waterlogged, with motorists reporting lengthy delays.
There are also reports that the road to Ballybofey just outside Castlefinn is flooded.
Met Éireann says that surface water will continue to affect many roads today due to heavy rain. The rain will clear towards the evening, with highest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees with blustery south-westerly winds.
The regional forecast suggests that tonight will be dry with temperatures ranging between 2 to 5 degrees. A touch of frost may be evident in sheltered spots.
Tomorrow will bring bright and sunny spells, along with the odd light shower. Highest temperatures will range between 6 to 9 degrees.
