A massive wind turbine in Inishowen has been left badly damaged after it was struck by lightning yesterday.

The massive 94 metre-long turbine was struck around 6pm.

The incident took place at the windfarm on Crockbrack Hill, Meanletterbale, Inishowen.

The nacelle of turbine T1 has been left badly damaged.

Dents and scorch marks are clearly to be seen where the lightning hit the nacelle of the 116 metre high wind turbine.
