Daniel O’Donnell has admitted how he ‘blew a gasket’ when he got a pricing for the renovation of his home which is to feature on RTE’s Room to Improve.
The singer and wife Majella enlisted the help of TV architect Dermot Bannon to help them renovate their pad, with the abode’s overhaul featuring on the new series of his hit programme.
And Daniel — known for his laid-back attitude — revealed how viewers will be surprised to see how agitated he became by the planning process.
He told the Irish Sun: “I did blow a gasket when I got the first pricing. But now I’m more relaxed about it because I know that Dermot will do a magnificent job, even if he does drive me mad sometimes!”
And the star told how viewers may be surprised to see just how stressed he can get, admitting: “I was actually quite annoyed with the whole thing.
“I’m not sure what they’ll show on TV but people might not think I’m quite as placid.”
The singer also revealed how he and Majella are massive fans of interior design, with the pair taking a huge interest in TV shows about home makeovers.
He said: “Majella and I just love interiors. Our favourite programmes to watch are shows like Grand Designs and Sixty Minute Makeover and when we go to America we spend all our time watching Home and Garden TV.
“I know people might think ‘Why would they get a show to do their home renovation?’
“But you don’t get it for nothing. It’s not that it’s going to cost us anything less, it’s just going to be really well done.”
