Job Vacancy: Brighter Futures For Children is currently seeking to recruit a Social Care Manager for North Donegal.
Brighter Futures for Children (BFC) Ltd aims to help children overcome developmental trauma resulting from adverse childhood experiences such as neglect and child abuse.
BFC specialises in the provision of therapeutic communities wherein children enjoy positive nurturing relationships with supportive adults. For this reason, all staff are expected to undertake therapeutic training and continuous personal therapy throughout the life time of their employment with BFC.
Additionally, BFC will commission and provide evidence-informed therapeutic intervention that have demonstrated effectiveness in assisting traumatized to heal.
Social Care Manager
Essential Criteria:
- BSc in Applied Social Studies; Applied Social Science; Applied Social Studies in Social Care, Professional Development Social Work or Youth and Community Work or equivalent Level 7 qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience in residential services for children/adolescents.
- Proven achievement in effectively managing a professional staff team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and empower others towards success in the delivery of care services to a high standard.
- Knowledge of the Irish National Standards in Children’s Residential Centres
- A clean full driving licence valid in the Republic of Ireland and UK.
Brief Job Description:
- Ensuring proper governance with reference to relevant legislation and policy including financial management.
- Overall management of a therapeutic residential community for traumatized children to ensure positive outcomes.
- Management and leadership of a social care staff team with emphasis on professional development.
- Ensuring that social care/therapeutic interventions are delivered appropriately.
- Ensure social care staff adhere to and complete administrative responsibilities in accordance with protocol.
- Ensuring health & safety are maintained at all times.

Desirable Criteria for Post:
- Diploma/certificate in child counselling/psychotherapy.
- Diploma/certificate in therapeutic counselling.
- Diploma/certificate in trauma counselling/interventions.
- Diploma/certificate in play therapy.
