Raphoe Community in Action
Raphoe Community in Action would like to take this opportunity to thank Edward Coyle of Centra for providing the electric every year for the Christmas lights, your kindness every year is much appreciated.
Ulster Bank – Bank on Wheels
The Ulster bank on wheels will visit Raphoe On Tuesdays & Friday from 10.15AM – 1.00PM beginning Tuesday 19 th December 2017.
Ulster Bank Weekly Drop-In Clinic
Eve Curran, Community Banker for Ulster Bank will be holding a weekly drop-in clinic at the Raphoe Family Resource Centre at the Volt House in Raphoe every week from Friday 19th January from 10.30 – 1pm.
She will be able to provide support on the following:
> One to one Financial Health Checks
> Assisting with general accounts queries, products and services
> Alternative ways to bank safely, including registering for online banking
> Fraud and scam awareness/digital safety
> Arrange one to one appointments if you prefer
Eve will also be supporting local community groups and events so if you want her to call into you in the day or early evening outside of the drop-in sessions she can be reached on eve.c.curran@ulsterbank.com or 087 1926529.
Seniors Alert Scheme
The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch.
If you or someone you know is aged 65 years or older; of limited means or resource; living alone or with another person who meets the eligibility criteria; able to benefit from the equipment supplied and prepared to maintain contact with the registered organisation please contact Laura at Raphoe Family Resource Centre on (074) 9145796 or 0873641503 for more information or to make an application.
Craft Group
Our craft group meets every Tuesday from 10 AM – 12 Noon at the Volt House. If you would like to have a go at crafting in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere then this could be the club for you! We just pick a craft we would like to try and give it a go!
So far, we have had decoupage, furniture painting, mosaic’s, slate painting, card making to name but a few! Currently working on some lovely Christmas pieces! Class costs €3 The craft group will recommence early in the New Year!!
Toddler Group
Little Smiles with Big Dreams Toddler Group meet every Wednesday morning from 10.30am to 12 noon in Raphoe Family Resource Centre, The Volt House Hall. Anyone who is in the care of a child parent(s)/guardian/aunt/uncle/child-minder or grandparent is welcome.
Toddler groups are a great way to enhance your little one’s confidence and meet others of similar age. A light snack is provided for the kids while adults can enjoy a wee cuppa and chat! Raphoe Boxing Club
Raphoe club boxers Liam Mc Monagle, Tom Doherty and Eoin Mc Garrell will be in action on Monday night in the finals of the Ulster Open 9 County Championships in Belfast and best wishes goes to all three boxers from their clubmates and their coaches.
Winners of the annual Christmas raffle were as follows:

“Laggan Lads”
“Laggan Lads” by Hilary Roulston is a book of stories and poems relating to East Donegal during the First World War. It was recently launched in the county Museum, Letterkenny and is available for sale in Coyle’s Centra, Raphoe and Raphoe Ulster Scots Agency.
It will also be available at Mac’s Mini Mart, St. Johnston, St. Johnston & Carrigans Family Resource Centre, Mc Diad Butchers, Newtowncunningham, Callaghan’s Motorway Stores, Burt and Raphoe Indoor Market. Price €10
50-50 Bonus Ball

Slim R Us
Slim R Us takes place every Tuesday at the Volt Hall from 5.40 – 6.40. €6.50 per session.
Raphoe Friday Club
The Friday Club meets every Friday morning in the Volt House Hall from 10.30am-12.30. We would like more in our community to come along and be a part of the Group.
There will be events organised over the summer so come along and join in the craic! Refreshments are also provided. Transport is available on Friday mornings and if you require this please phone 0749145462 and arrange.
