Local fundraising group Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital have raised over €11,500 with their Christmas hamper draw.
The chairman of the group, Peter Cutliffe, has thanked all who supported the draw and those who sold tickets.
The group also celebrated their 25th anniversary at a special function in LUH this week.
Committee members who have been working with the group since the establishment of Friends of LUH in 1992 were presented with long service awards. These included; Mary Gallagher, Vera Sweeney, Ann McGowan, Eileen Bannan, and Ian McGarvey.
Past chairmen and the present chairman also spoke at the event, and discussed the importance of the group and why they were inspired to get involved; namely Casmir McGill, Brian McGarvey, Donal Kelly, and Peter Cutliffe. The first chairman of the Friends was Mr Noel O Connell.
The lucky winners of the draw are:
Winner of Christmas hamper: JJ McInaw, Donegal Town
Second prize: Bottle of brandy – Valerie Lawne, St Johnstone
Third prize: Homemade Christmas cake – Charlie Boyle, Gartan
Fourth prize: Box of chocolates – Margaret Wilson, Letterkenny
Fifth prize: Bottle of wine – Chloe McMonagle, Letterkenny
