Anyone who is dreaming of a White Christmas will be delighted with the latest update to Monday’s forecast.
Met Eireann has just hinted that there is a chance of snow on December 25th – a small chance, but a chance all the same.
It may feel unusually mild this week as we do our last-minute shopping but the temperatures are set to drop and bring frost and ice along with it.
The turn in the weather is set to happen on Christmas Day. It will be a rainy day and mild (average 11 degrees) until nightfall, which is when Met Eireann predict a little bit of Christmas magic:
The forecast says: “Very cold overnight with frost and ice, as well as well scattered showers – the odd wintry one possible.”
It looks like the odds have picked up for a snow event! The rest of Christmas week is set to be colder and more unsettled. ‘Some wintry falls possible,’ is what’s predicted for the week.
