Donegal Youth Service would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all of your support in 2017, and we look forward to seeing you in 2018!
Here is a short round up of some of the celebrations from different DYS groups:
BreakOut’s Big Christmas Party Extravaganza
Donegal Youth Service’s LGBT project BreakOut had their annual Christmas Party on Friday the 15th of December this year.
The project operates weekly groups for young LGBT people aged 12-30 in Letterkenny and Ballybofey, as well as countywide outreach work. They all came together for the evening, which included team building and racing in Century Play, a 3 course meal in the BackStage Bar & Grill and a movie and snacks in Century Cinemas.
It was described by some as “the best Christmas party ever!”, and the pictures sure seem to confirm this statement.
World Wide Voices Celebrate Close to Home
The World Wide Voices group took the night off on Wednesday the 13th of December from their employment project to have a little Christmas party in The Loft. Home cooked food comprised of freshly made pasta bake, hot dogs, roast ham, and lots of other bowls of goodies.
Group members did some modern renditions of some Christmas classics, there was a DJ, and there was lots of craic with the pool table, and ping pong as always.
The group meet up weekly on Wednesday evenings and work on different issues and projects such as challenging racism, sexism and other forms of prejudice.
DYS Christmas Card Competition
Matthew Clifford, from Cockhill Youth Club was the overall winner of the all Ireland, Youth Work Ireland Nollaig 2017 Christmas Card competition. Congratulations to Matthew on this brilliant achievement!
The Loft Christmas Party is this Friday the 22nd December at 7pm. There’s going to be food, karaoke, a photobooth and lots of craic. Only €5! Don’t miss it.
