Donegal County Council has announced that an emergency road closure is required on Bridge Street in Donegal Town to facilitate the removal of a large tree that has fallen into the river adjacent to the bridge.
The road has been closed since 12:30pm and will be closed until 4pm today.
Diversions are in place as follows:
Traffic travelling from Donegal Town towards Killybegs will be diverted on the Diamond up Main Street towards the By-Pass.
Traffic travelling from the Killybegs direction towards Donegal Town will be diverted at the roundabout near the Mill Park hotel and along the by-pass.
A spokesperson for Donegal County Council says: “We would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation and every effort will be made to re-open the road.”
