Letterkenny Institute of Technology managed to book a place in the quarter-finals of the College’s League thanks to a 4-1 win at Maynooth University today.
LyIT had been on the brink of an exit following a helter-skelter start to their season, but they advanced with a big victory on the road.
Darragh Black fired LyIT in front early in the game, but Maynooth levelled the tie by the break.
Fanad United attacker Black restored LyIT’s lead.
All the goals for LyIT were scored by Fanad players with strikes by Jordan Toland and Daire McDaid also on the mark as they won with a bit to spare in the end up.
