Donegal Youth Council is making their way to Dublin today for the National Dáil na nÓg.
Dáil na nÓg is the National Youth Parliament of Ireland for twelve to seventeen-year-olds, with Daire taking this seat for the next two years. The major event takes place in Croke Park, with this year’s theme being centred around Equality.
200 young people are elected to Dáil na nÓg through their local Comhairle.
Daire Harper from St Columba’s College Stranorlar has been chosen as Donegal Youth Council’s National Executive Representative for 2018 to 2020.
Megan Skinnader from the previous Youth Council will chair today’s Dáil na nÓg.
The Donegal Youth Council are a group of 32 young people from across the county working on key issues affecting young people in Donegal. The Youth Council is funded by the County Council, HSE health promotion, the Department of Youth Affairs and is managed locally by the Donegal Youth Service.
