LAST MONTH, DONEGAL GAA lost a stalwart as Pat Shovelin passed away.
Shovelin had been part of Jim McGuinness’s backroom team as Donegal won the 2012 All-Ireland as well as three Ulster championships. Goalkeeping coach Shovelin was also involved with Donegal’s 2010 and 2017 Ulster U-21 championship winning panels.
On the day of his month’s mind, Shovelin was remembered by his fellow Ardara clubman Conor Classon as the team from Pearse Park preserved their senior championship status with a 5-14 to 1-9 win over Naomh Muire.
