TV producers have call on a Donegal family to share their story after they welcomed a second set of twins this year on the same birthday as their four-year-old twin girls.
The Doherty family from Moville will appear on the Today show with Maura Derrane and Daithí Ó Sé this Friday on their two latest additions’ one month birthday.
Parents Seamus and Elizabeth Doherty’s twin babies Sienna and Travis were born this year on October 17th – the exact date that their girls Samera and Tameka were born in 2013.
Seamus spoke with Donegal Woman today after pre-recording the Today interview with Daithi O’Se on Skype.
Mum, dad, the two sets of twins and their eldest boy Torin (7) all gathered around their computer to share an insight into their home life with the rest of Ireland.
“We told our usual story about how it was a coincidence the twins were all born on the same date and we were delighted to tell Daithi that the babies are happy and healthy a month on,” Seamus said.
“They are sleeping well and wake once a night. They are feeding well and thriving.”
Travis and Sienna’s older brother and sisters still dote on the newborns.
“You’ll not take them away from them! There’s no jealousy yet,” Seamus said.
Mechanic Seamus and stay-at-home mum Elizabeth have been rushed off their feet keeping their busy household running as smoothly as can be.
The family received a welcome gift this week from Letterkenny appliance store TDA in the form of two new Hotpoint washer and dryers.
“That was a great help. Everything’s been going 24/7 at the moment,” Seamus said.
Don’t forget to tune in to Today on RTE1 tomorrow (Friday) from 3.30pm to see the interview!
