A planning application for a new cinema for the county have been turned down.
The five-screen cinema was due to be by WF Dolan in Donegal Town.
The state-of-the-art cinema, proposed for Clarcarricknagun, would have been able to seat 714 cinema lovers.
The development also contained parking spaces for almost 160 cars as well as a shop and a restaurant.
The 1,900 sq metre development was applied for in September.
However, it has now been turned down over fears for increased traffic volume in the area.
It is understood the developers may resubmit upgraded plans.
