Parent-run autism support organisation iCARE received a €700 donation cheque from Buncrana Tidy Towns after a fruitful apple selling fundraiser.
Each year Buncrana Tidy Towns volunteers pick and sell apples to raise money for local charities. 2017 has been a bumper year with a grand total of €700 collected and donated to the autism support organisation iCARE and Sonas Youth Club.

Buncrana Tidy Towns Spokesperson Sinéad Ní Bhroin said: “We are incredibly grateful to the local community for donating their apples to this worthwhile endeavour by Buncrana Tidy Towns to raise money for local charities.
“Our volunteers pick the apples and then sell them at the Town Clock on the Main Street in Buncrana throughout September and October. This year we even supplied some great homemade recipes and Rosemary Butler kindly donated homemade apple jam and chutney to the stall.
“iCARE and Sonas Youth Club make a real and valuable difference to the children and young people with autism who rely on their services. In addition to the various supports and care they provide for the children and young people iCare have provided training for parents, support mornings and daily respite. We are in awe of all that iCARE do and are delighted to support the work they do with this donation.”
