Buncrana woman Maggie Green is hosting a coffee morning at her home in Buncrana in aid of MS Ireland.
Mum of two and teacher Maggie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis a year ago, and would now like to raise €1,000 for MS Ireland.
“A year ago MS changed our lives forever and after diagnosis MS Ireland became an invaluable resource. MS Ireland provides information, advice, support and advocacy for people with MS,” Maggie explains.
MS is a disease which impacts the electrical messages the central nervous system sends to various parts of the body, causing varying degrees of axonal damage.
“Living with MS is an uncertain road and everything can change from one day to the next, having a resource like MS Ireland provides a little light along the way during a very difficult time.
“I never expected to be diagnosed with a chronic illness and to say it has changed my life immeasurably is an understatement! I am so very grateful for every day that I am well.
“New advances in medicine have changed the landscape of MS in the last 25 years and as more and more research is done the prognosis for those of us diagnosed with MS doesn’t seem as bleak.”
The coffee morning will take place on the 25th of November at her home in Buncrana, and everyone is welcome to come by for a cuppa and a few sweet treats! If you can’t make it on the day, all donations to her JustGiving page are welcome and appreciated.
