Colm McFadden hopes last night’s derby win over Colaisti Inis Eoghain will spur St Eunan’s College on for the rest of their MacLarnon Cup campaign.
PJ McBrearty’s first-half goal earned St Eunan’s a 1-7 to 0-8 win in Convoy.
It was the Letterkenny school’s first game in the competition with the Inishowen men already having posted two wins and Eunan’s took the win on a night where some score controversy dominated the post-match talk, the referee having erroneously awarded a point to St Eunan’s in the opening half.
“It was a tough game,” former Donegal star McFadden said.
“We’re just glad to get two points on the board. The pressure was off Inishowen. We lived dangerously, but they dug deep and got the win.
“It was a great contest.”
