The Aurora Borealis was visible last night over Donegal, with photographers and astronomy enthusiasts venturing out to admire the spectacular night sky.
Despite cloudy conditions, photographer Kevin Shields of KCS Pix captured the above snap at Kindrum Lake last night.
“I saw online there was a storm happening so grabbed the camera and headed off the it was cold – very cold,” he told Donegal Daily.
“I was out for around three hours. It was difficult at times due to the cloudy conditions.
“They were really active at times but couldn’t see them properly due to the clouds.”
The dancing lights of the aurora were seen across Ireland, with people taking to Twitter to share their stunning snaps.
