Donegal could be set for its first taste of snow this winter with Met Eireann warning temperatures are to plunge again tomorrow.
Forecaster Liz Walsh said temperatures will plummet on Tuesday.
And there could be some of the white stuff at higher levels, she warned.
She said “There’s a cold front coming tonight after the heavy rain is gone.
“It will be very cold tomorrow afternoon with temperatures reaching between 7 to 9C.
“There will be hail showers in the west of the country with a risk of thunder.
“There might be a dusting of the white stuff on top of mountains but that’s it.”
“Largely dry at first tonight in eastern areas, but heavy and persistent rain in the west will transfer eastwards overnight, with low cloud and mist.
“A clearance will follow from the west later in the night as the gusty southerly winds veer northwesterly and ease. Lowest temperatures 3 to 5C.”
