A West Donegal school is to receive funding for resurfacing of its yard and parking area.
Parents and teachers at Liunnagh NS in Gaoth Dobhair constantly faced a problem of large pools of water when it rained.
Local county councillor Micheal MacGiolla Easbuig raised the issue and met with a roads engineer form the council in January 2016 to discuss the issue.
Now a total of €78,000 has been allocated to sort out the issue.
Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig welcomed the funding.
He said “This is mostly down to the school community who continued to keep this on the agenda, council staff and all six councillors who got behind the issue. Well done again to the school community,” he said.
Work will start next year on the project.
