There has been another major burglary in Co Donegal.

A gang broke into the Centra supermarket in Carrigart overnight and stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

It is understood the thieves gained entry through a back door before escaping.

The store is owned by the well-known Boyce family.

It is the latest in a series of robberies across the county after break-ins to petrol stations, supermarkets, a jewellery shop and a post office.

Garda forensic teams are at the scene of the latest break-in.

Gardai say they are still not certain of the latest burglary is related to the other robberies which they believe was carried out by the same gang.
