The chances are as slim as could be, but Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan has vowed that his team will battle for survival until the very last.
With two games to go, Harps’ stay in the Premier Division appears to be coming to an end.
Five points from safety, Harps are in need of a miracle of sorts if they are to retain their top flight spot.
“There is still a chance,” Horgan observed.
“As long as there is a chance, please God we’ll keep fighting. It would take a huge turn of events, but there is still a chance. Stranger things have happened.
“There is a lot of hope that this might be one of them.”
Harps haven’t won since a 2-0 win at Limerick at the beginning of September and Friday’s 3-0 loss at Derry pushed the soil on top of them even more.
Horgan said: “When confidence is down, it’s a very difficult thing to turn.
“Once there is some sort of a chance we’ll keep fighting.”
