Ronan Curtis is enjoying the form of his life at Derry City this season.
Curtis was Man of the Match last night as City all but guaranteed themselves a place in next season’s Europa League.
The St Johnston man scored one and made one as the Candystripes overcame Finn Harps 3-0 at Maginn Park.
“Yeah, I’m delighted to be playing week-in, week-out,” Curtis – the Godson of the Wales manager Chris Coleman – said.
“I can’t thank Kenny enough for giving me my chance. I’ve taken it well. I’ve played well all season. I’m enjoying it with the lads.”
After impressing against Midtjylland in this season’s Europa League – even though Derry lost 6-1 – Curtis was the subject of a bid by Swedish club Ostersunds, but the move fell through.
Curtis made his mark last night having been with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and playing 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Norway and in the 4-0 win over Israel.
Curtis said: “It was a great experience being away with the 21s. I played the two full games and played really well. The manager was happy and it was good to get away with the Ireland team.”
