Dale Gorman found himself wrongly suspended – but the error was corrected and the Letterkenny man returned to score last night for Northern Ireland Under-21s.
An administrative error had Gorman suspended, but UEFA’s clerical mishap was rectified, allowing Gorman to take his place.
And he found the net as NI moved to the top of the Euro 2019 Group Two table thanks to a 4-2 win over Estonia at Mourneview Park.
After Ryan Johnson netted on two minutes to give Northern Ireland the lead, Frank Liivak and Rauno Sappinen both scored for Estonia.
A cracker from Gorman levelled things up before half-time and a second-half brace by Mark Sykes secured the win.
