Donegal Mind Wellness charity founder Majella O’Donnell will host an evening celebrating and discussing mental health this World Mental Health Day.

This Tuesday, October 10th, a free event will be held in An Grianan Theatre Letterkenny. The entertaining evening is set to be an important celebration of World Mental Health Day, with music, chat, debate and drama.

As a prominent advocate for mental health awareness, Majella has extended an open invitation to anyone who wishes to attend. She will be giving an insightful talk on her own journey and views on mental health.

Majella will be sharing her thoughts on mental health in Ireland and in the workplace. Majella, who lives with depression, will be sharing important advice on self care in today’s busy world.

The thought-provoking theatre company Bread & Roses will be performing a short comical drama about how work can influence our mental health.

Letterkenny musician Brighdín Carr will perform a song she wrote that was inspired by Majella. Bri heard Majella speak about her journey through life with all its ups and downs, and turned this into a song people will hear on the evening.

There will be a topical Mental Health debate between two teams of local wise heads, with the audience deciding who will lift the Donegal Mind Wellness Debating Trophy.

There will be a raffle on the night for some great prizes. There will also be some local services set up downstairs in the theatre providing information about their services.

The event begins at 8pm on Tuesday 10th October. Tickets are free but must be booked through the An Grianan Theatre (074 9120777) to be guaranteed a seat
