Danny O’Donnell says his Milford team ‘made sure’ that yesterday was their day as they finally got their hands on the Cathal McLaughlin Cup.
Milford won an absorbing Intermediate Championship final with St Naul’s at O’Donnell Park as goals from Darragh Black and Cathal McGettigan sealed a 2-11 to 0-12 win for the Moyle View men, who had been beaten in a final replay by Burt last year.
“It was tough to watch, with the spectre of last year hanging over us,” O’Donnell said.
“That might have stood to us, the wee bit of experience from last year.
“We just had enough quality to get over the line. They had all the momentum, but we seen it out and we got the lead.
“They made sure that it was their time and I’m delighted for them.”
