Glenfin ladies made an agonising exit from the Ulster ladies championship after a two-point loss to St Macartan’s at Pairc Taobhoige this afternoon.
Glenfin 4-5 St Macartan’s 2-13
Last year’s finalists, St Macartan’s had the edge in a thrilling contest.
Yvonne McMonagle hit 3-3 for Glenfin, but Francie Martin’s team fell to a gut-wrenching defeat.
McMomnagle netted three goals in the first half and Glenfin led 3-2 to 1-7 at the turnover.
Paula Donnelly netted for the Tyrone side and, despite McMonagle leading the line for Glenfin, the visitors hit a second goal to lead through Shauna McGirr.
But when Katy Herron drilled home, Glenfin were level again.
However, McMonagle was then hauled down as she bore in on goal again and had to settle for a pointed free.
Two late scores sent St Macartan’s through and Glenfin were left to ponder.
